Oysters are a fascinating group of Pelcypods to collect as they have such diversity of shapes while remaining remarkably similar in composition. Texas has a nice group of oysters of the genera Texigryphaea. Below is what I believe is a Texigryphaea marcoui based on the book "A Field Guide to Fossils of Texas" by Charles Finsley, plate 56, photo 180.
This above fossil is from the Lower Cretaceous aged Comanche Peak fm., Bosque County, Texas.
